Norman C. Sullivan, Jr. was born in Stockton, California, on September 27, 1945. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1967, at which time he also was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Santa Clara in 1970, and thereafter was admitted to the practice of law in the State of California.

Mr. Sullivan served active duty with the United States Army, including a tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam. Upon discharge from the military in 1973, he was admitted to practice law in Louisiana and entered private practice.

Mr. Sullivan is engaged in a comprehensive litigation practice. His primary area of expertise is maritime litigation, with particular emphasis on products liability, contract and insurance law, as well as construction disputes. Mr. Sullivan is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state and federal courts, all California state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the United States Supreme Court.

He is a member of the New Orleans, California, Louisiana and American Bar Associations, as well as the Maritime Law Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Association of Average Adjusters of the United States and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute (Chairman 1998). Mr. Sullivan received the Distinguished Maritime Lawyer Award from the New Orleans Bar Association for 2012.
