Delos (Dee) E. Flint, Jr. was born in Santiago, Cuba on January 31, 1956. He attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and graduated, with honors, with a B.A. in history in 1978. He received his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University Law School in 1981, where he served as an Associate Editor for the Louisiana Coastal Law (1981).
Mr. Flint’s practice involves both Commercial and Civil Litigation with an expertise in the Maritime and Energy fields. He has extensive experience in the maritime field, representing drilling and service companies, blue and brown water vessel owners, charterers and insurers. His maritime expertise ranges from litigation involving personal injury defense, charter parties, longshore matters, maritime lien disputes, collisions, cargo to environmental and pollution matters in both blue water and inland settings. A veteran of the Courtroom, he has tried and litigated cases before judges and juries from Texas to Florida.
With respect to the energy field, he has experience involving oil field exploration including energy insurance, well blow out and control, loss of hole, production delay and tank explosions. He also has experience in commercial litigation involving Defense Base Act claims, asbestos, breach of contract, products liability and environmental law.

Mr. Flint is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Colorado State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association (New Orleans Chapter) and the American Bar Association where he served as Chairman of the Admiralty and Maritime Committee of the International Law and Practice Section (1995-1998) and serves as Asst. Chair (1999-2001). He is also a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He has served on the Alumni Council for Dartmouth College, as a Board member of the Boys Clubs of New Orleans, Lafreniere Soccer Club, on the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Louisiana Soccer Association. In 2010, Mr. Flint received the New Orleans City Business Leadership in Law Award.
